How and what form should I export my soundslides project? I want to upload it to the server but I'm not sure which form they would like it in. Thanks!

Full details are available in this video if you're confused: http://www.journalism.wisc.edu/j202/training/ssld_saving.mov
But the short answer is that when you click "export" in SoundSlides, it creates a folder in the project folder that's labeled publish_to_web. The publish_to_web folder is the one you drag to your folder in the restricted folder on the web server.

i did my project under windows movie maker...I'm not sure what it should be saved as or exported as I'm not using a mac so I dont think the "publish to web" comments apply to me...its a WMV file

just export as wmv and upload to the server in that format. when you do your final IS site, you'll have to do a little extra work but for now, you're set.

When our soundslides were due, I exported it as a size bigger than I was supposed and it's too big for my dreamweaver site so I tried to export it as a smaller size. In the process I think I deleted important files because when I try to insert the publish-to-web folder onto the my site, it doesn't show the PDF file I'm supposed to have. I keep trying to export it to a different size hoping the file I think I deleted will show up again, but it doesn't give me that option. Any advice?

Do you mean the SWF file you're supposed to have?

I can't quite tell exactly what you mean here, but the best bet is to trash the publish_to_web folder (DO NOT TRASH THE WHOLE SOUNDSLIDES PROJECT FOLDER). Then in SS, choose modify and custom output size. Set it to the size you want and hit export again. A new publish_to_web should show up.
